Dec 21, 2009 - Hi, You need to put the service switch into service. The display will now say 'Service Mode' Check out your manual for operation. Within service.

. 5 Answers SOURCE: you need to check the Home signal to make sure the opto is activated at position 99. When the unit powers up the mechanism scans one complete cycle so it re-indexes the computer and starts scanning from position 00. If you want a quick test, turn the power off and scan the carousel to position 99 by releasing the latch on the left side of the mech just under and behind the mechanism motor. Then power up the unit and it should pick the right selection. You can also observe the optic indicators on the mechanism control board under the turntable. The Home signal only operates at 99, the Index pulses between each record as it scans.

Good Luck Posted on Dec 02, 2010. Hello Gary, If your jukebox is ineed a 1979 model it would be a R-83 Fiesta, Claremont or Disco. These jukeboxes curved top to bottom. I think your jukebox may be the 1981 R-85 Starwood, Starburst or Starlight. If your jukebox is from the 1979 era upwards then it will be electronically controlled. You need to send in your boards to a Rowe Ami specialist in the USA you would contact:- Bruce Wentworth A&B Jukebox Repair 56 Old County Rd.

Hello Andy, Yes I know the 1976 Rowe Ami R-80 jukebox very well as well as most of the other Rowe Ami jukeboxes. The turntable motor and the lighting work off of the 110 volt output from the power supply. The other power voltages are connected to the power supply via the molex plug. Pin 1 30VDC white/red Pin 2 30VAC yellow/black Pin 3 Common black Pin 4 Ground gren/yellow Pin 5 No connection Pin 6 Common black All the voltages are protected by circuit breakers. Hello, You say you do not have the digital display lite up, have you checked all of the breakers on the power supply? If not do so. Rowe Ami jukeboxes are very prone to dry joints (cold joints in the USA) this is cracking around the soldered pin on the connections to the boards.

If you can solder correctly then check out the printed circuit board on the power supply. I would retest and see if the display now lights after correcting a fault on the power supply. If that has not made any difference then proceed to the Mechanism Control Board and the Central Control Computer (CCC) and check again for dry joints. If you can not solder with any confidence then send in your boards to a Rowe Ami specialist for testing/repair. Regards Alan Hood ami-man UK Mar 10, 2009. So check out the following:- Power supply board CCC Mechanism control/decoder Keyboard I would check out the Keyboard/Display the display board controls the title flip buttons. I have seen a nuber of brand new display units for sale in the USA on Ebay for very little money.

When these were first made they were an arm and a leg. If you bought the combined unit that was put into the HML hideaways you could refit into your jukebox. If You are not good at soldering then my advice would be send the boards to a Rowe Ami specialist for testing/repair. Regards Alan Hood ami-man UK Jul 24, 2008. Hello, I take it that the jukebox accepts selections when you type them in.

Also that you have tried selecting the A side and the B side records. Is the switch on the CCC (Central Control Computer) set to Record it should not be set to Video. Rowe Ami jukeboxes are very pone to dry (cold in the USA) joints. If you can solder then the following items need to checked for dry joints. Power Supply PCB (printed circuit board) CCC Mechanism Control Board When taking out the plugs pull on the plugs (not the wires) Look on the soldered side where the connectors pins are fitted for any cracking around the soldered joint ( this is the sign of a dry joint).

Resolder any suspect joints on all of the boards and refit into the jukebox and test. If this does not cure the problem then the boards will be needed to be sent to a Rowe Ami specalist, I am one of these in the UK. Regards Alan Hood ami-man UK May 30, 2008.
